On behalf of the Dominican Sisters of Edmonds, I welcome you to our website.
We are a community of women religious, called by our Dominican charism to preach the truth
by word, deed, and the witness of our lives as the way we participate in the mission of
Jesus.Our congregation's roots can be traced to a monastery founded in 1233 in
Regensburg, Germany. Our story tells of the journey from that cloister in Germany,
to basement beginnings in New York, to the tide flats in Aberdeen,
Washington., to the seaports in
Seattle and Everett, and to the ferry docks in Edmonds.
Each step of this journey has been packed with excitement, adventure, hardship, and
joy. Today, we continue to listen and to respond to the call of God's Spirit as the
journey continues.
