On December 7, 2002, during its 17th General Chapter, the Dominican Sisters of Edmonds, Washington voted to merge with the Adrian Dominican Sisters in Michigan. The approval of the Vatican was received on March 31, and the effective date of the merger was June 14, 2003.

The new Adrian members are continuing to serve the People of God in the Northwest and the other areas where they minister.
